Our purpose is to provide a safe and affirming space for the students we serve at Colorado State University, while supporting systemic change to end all forms of oppression within our community.

Sexual Assault Awareness MonthThe month of April has been designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in the United States. The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence.

Consent Turns Me On is the campaign that we use for SAAM here at CSU. Our campaign focuses on healthy relationships, sex positivity, and emphasizes asking for and receiving consent as a primary method to prevent sexual assault. We believe that the process of getting consent from potential partners to engage in sexual activities doesn’t have to be as awkward as it is sometimes made out to be. As our Assistant Director in Education Programs and Violence Prevention, Monica Rivera says, “We promise the sex will be better if the person you’re with actually wants to be having sex with you too!”
