WGAC hires several students, Student Aides, to work in the office each year. Student aides participate in the office in a number of ways, including managing the front desk, helping core staff with projects and programs, and identifying their own activism projects they would like to do.
We hire in February for the following academic year. All student staff positions are work-study positions. If you are not eligible for need-based work study, you can apply for merit work-study if offered a position.
WGAC also accepts students for internships and practicum based on the needs of their academic programs. Each internship is developed individually for the student. Past interns have been undergraduate and graduate students in Student Affairs in Higher Education, Social Work, Ethnic Studies, Psychology, and Sociology. We are open to hosting students in any program if the goals of the student and the program align with WGAC. If you are interested in doing an internship or practicum with us, please contact the office to discuss your interests and options.
